Geely Auto has officially entered the UK market with the launch of its first pure – electric SUV, the Geely EX5. The launch took place in London on October 23, 2025, during a communication meeting with UK investors.
The Geely EX5 is the overseas version of the Geely Galaxy E5. To better adapt to European road conditions and local driving habits, Geely invited the Lotus engineer team to retune the chassis. The vehicle is available in three versions: SE, PRO, and MAX, with guide prices ranging from £31,990 to £36,990 (approximately 303,300 to 350,700 RMB).
This pure – electric strategic model has already been launched in 33 countries, including Australia, Poland, Indonesia, Thailand, and Chile. In May, it achieved a thousand – unit delivery in Indonesia, ranked among the top three in Australian pure – electric vehicle sales in July, and topped the sales charts in the Brazilian and Greek markets in September.
The UK is the largest new – energy vehicle market in Europe, with a 34.6% growth rate in pure – electric vehicles in the first half of 2025, making it a strategic high – ground for Geely’s 布局 in Europe. Geely has been steadily advancing its layout in the UK for nearly two decades since investing in LEVC in 2006. It has not only established a new – energy factory in the UK and launched the world’s first exclusive new – energy taxi TX5 but also assisted Lotus in completing its electrification transformation and deepened its strategic investment in Aston Martin.
Geely aims to achieve an annual sales volume of 100,000 vehicles in the UK by 2030. To this end, it plans to establish a nationwide network of 100 sales and service outlets by 2026, accompanied by a complete parts supply and after – sales system.
During the communication meeting, Gan Jiayue, CEO of Geely Auto Group, revealed that from January to September this year, Geely Auto Group achieved a 61.8% year – on – year increase in cumulative sales in the European market. Starting with the Geely EX5, Geely plans to launch 15 new models in Europe within the next five years and build a network of over a thousand dealerships to become a mainstream automotive brand in Europe.
