Against the backdrop of China’s current dual-carbon goals, the light truck industry is undergoing a profound transformation in power transformation. Sales of new energy light trucks in the Chinese market continue to rise, and many cities have introduced relevant policies to encourage users to switch to new energy light trucks. However, as a production tool, the actual application scenarios of light trucks are all-encompassing, and a single solution cannot meet all needs. In certain specific scenarios and applications, diesel power is not restricted by terrain, weather, and infrastructure, and can be used all-weather and uninterruptedly; in addition, in areas with high requirements for power and reliability, especially in scenarios such as frequent starting, acceleration, heavy-load climbing, and cold chain transportation with both driving and refrigeration needs, diesel-powered light trucks currently also have relative advantages.
Against this background, Cummins insists on innovative breakthroughs in the field of traditional energy power, and joins hands with three joint ventures to jointly create a new generation of light power platforms to meet the requirements of the fourth stage of fuel, providing low-carbon and efficient power options for the majority of light truck users.
The new generation of HE150 WG superchargers are tailor-made for the new 2.5L and 3.0L platforms. The new widened flow slot design plus comprehensive aerodynamic upgrades have increased the overall efficiency of the supercharger by 5% compared to the previous generation, improving fuel economy; the turbine blades and volute flow passage section adopt a new distribution design, which increases the turbine high-cycle fatigue life by about 10%, improves fuel consumption and extends service life; the compressor shell inlet silencer rectifier and reflux control technology are optimized, making driving quieter; the new sealing system design greatly improves the ability to resist oil leakage.
